Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I expect from my first visit?

At your first consultation, your physiotherapist will undertake a subjective and objective assessment to obtain information from you to make a provisional diagnosis. During the subjective assessment your physiotherapist will ask you a series of questions to help them understand your injury better. During the objective assessment the physio will perform several assessments on you to further understand your injury. Once a provisional diagnosis has been obtained, they will formulate a treatment plan that is specialised for your injury.

  • What should I wear?

Physiotherapy assessment and treatment requires the therapist to observe the postures and movements of the area of pain and the adjoining regions so undressing of outer garments is often required. We recommend you wear suitable clothing such as a T-shirt, shorts and underwear or swimmers that you are comfortable being assessed and treated in.

  • Can a pregnant woman see a physiotherapist?

Yes, we provide treatment to women who are pregnant. However, we do not perform some treatment techniques during the certain stages of the pregnancy. Therefore, it is important that you make your physiotherapist aware if you are pregnant.
